5/1/08 Ryan Kilner's Grandslam seals victory for Falcons
Olney, MD - Senior day at Good Counsel is always a special day for everyone. Freshman, sophomores, and juniors get a vision of the future and seniors say there farewells to those who will follow in there footsteps. For Brad Calandra,Chris Gartland,Ryan Kilner, Jeff Kennedy, Danny Angle, Mickey Dilima, Mike Vivian and Justin Bartlett Senior day was a chance to say goodbye to everyone in one last game. This is always very special for seniors as they realize this is it for them at Good Counsel. However, for senior Ryan Kilner, he had other ideas, those of the the dramatic. With time running short and the celebration ready to go and the pizza getting cold, Ryan Kilner hit a grandslam to end the game in the bottom of the 5th thus invoking the 10 run mercy rule. 5/1/08 Falcons miss chance at upset, drop in 9th, 9-8

Olney, MD - Falcons took #1 ranked PVI Panthers to the brink again. George Smith and Brandon Grove homered leading the Falcons, with Chris Martin and Mike Bitanga on the hill. The Falcons took the Panthers to extra innings, but fell short in the 9th.
4/23/08 Falcons shut out McNamara 9-0
vs.
Mitchellville, MD - Danny Angle & Tom Martinson Homered for the Falcons while Collin Fishman pitched six shut out innings leading the Falcons to a 9-0 Victory. Stellar defensive plays were made by Jim Belfont, Matt Kohn, and Ray Wyder collected his first varsity hit, a near home run but RBI double to center field.

Alexandria, VA - Sophomore Matt Kohn went 3 for 4 with a home run and two doubles in his Varsity starting debut to lead the Falcons to a 11-0 shutout against rival Bishop Ireton. Chris Martin, Mike Bitanga and Connor Hughes pitched the combined 4 hit shutout. Also contributing were Tommy Martinson going 3-4 with a home run, Jimmy Belfont with two doubles and Danny Angle's mammoth near home run, but RBI double.
4/16/08 Falcons Beat Bullis Bulldogs 10-3
Olney, MD - A day after notching a key win over WCAC rival DeMatha, Good Counsel broke out the bats once again against the IAC's Bullis.
Olney, MD - Chris Martin pitched six innings letting in two runs while George Smith went 4 for 4 with two RBI's in the Falcons 9-2 victory Tuesday at Bottegal field. The strong rivalry of DeMatha and Good Counsel was not lost on Tuesday's game. The Falcons don't have a lot of time to waste they play Bullis tomorrow at Bottegal field.
Fairfax, VA - Falcons took #1 ranked PVI Panthers to the brink. Chris Martin was good on the hill, and the offense was provided by Jake Taylor and Brandon Grove, Dan Angle, George Smith, and Tommy Martinson. The Falcons led through the 3 innings of play 5-3 but fell 8-5.
4/8/08 Falcons take #2 St. John's to the edge, fall 2-1

Washington, D.C. - Mike Bitanga pitched a complete game and kept the Falcons in 1-0 score for most the game. Brandon Grove went 3-3 and Dan Angle drove in the Falcons lone run.
4/1/08 Falcons Clip Cardinals 7-2

Good Counsel vs. Ireton Cardinals
Olney, MD - Starting pitcher Paul Graves and fireman Jimmy Belfont provided a strong pitching tandem to bolster a good hitting performance from the Falcons offense. Justin Bartlett , 3 for 4 with two doubles, and Jake Taylor's perfect day at the plate (4-4) were all that the Falcons needed to secure their second WCAC victory in the 2008 campaign. Jake's homerun and 4 RBIs helped the Falcons win their first after school game at Good Counsel. The Falcons are now 2-1 in the WCAC.

3/27/08 Falcons Split Double Header with O'Connell

Olney, MD - The Falcons and Knights combined for 49 runs in two games. As the Falcons dropped the opener 20-5 and won the second game 19-5. Jim Belfont picked up the win with Dan Angle and Jake Taylor each going yard. This was the first series played at Bottegal field which turned out to be quite an exciting and eventful day.
David and Phyllis Bottegal each threw out the first pitch to Ryan Bottegal (CF from 2006 WCAC Championship team) to a standing crowd. Our field was dedicated with a prayer from Dr Robert Van der Waag. Thanks to Steve Kohn for a professional job as our announcer.

3/25/08 Falcons Slug out 23 runs to victory

Good Counsel vs. Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders
Baltimore, MD - The Falcons brought their hitting shoes to the field that Babe Ruth built. Cardinal Gibbons is the successor to St. Mary's industrial school where Babe Ruth played as a young boy and is significantaly historical baseball field. The Falcons pounded out 23 runs in route to a 23-11 victory. Collin Fishman earned his first varsity win.
3/23/08 Falcons win opener, finish 2nd in tournament

Good Counsel vs. Linganore
Towson, MD - An Opening day game Victory for the Falcons 4-3 in Baltimore was not enough to propel the falcons to a tourney win . The Falcons placed second place in the Jack Connelly tournament. The falcons defeated the Lake Linganore Lancers then dropped the final to the Mt. St. Joe's Gaels Paul Graves picked up the win vs the Lancers with Mike Bitanga finishing the game and save. Justin Bartlett, Dan Angle, Jake Taylor and George Smith homered in the 25th annual opening day tournament at Mount St Josephs.
1/24/08 Falcons Gold win MCBA FALL Championship
Congratulations to Coach JL Creek and the Falcons Gold team for winning the MCBA Walter Johnson Fall League AA/A Championship on Tuesday night (11/6/07) at Olney Manor Regional Park. The Falcons won a very exciting and tightly contested extra inning affair by the score of 7-6 against a strong Sherwood High Warriors team scoring the game winner in the bottom of the 8th inning.
