For several years many of our baseball players have recorded service hours in connection with work performed on behalf of McKenna's Wagon (a subdivision of Shepherds Table).
The service opportunity is once a week and students receive three (3) credit hours for each week they participate and consist of students making lunches for those in need.
Here is what is involved - buy 3 loaves of white bread, 30 slices of bologna, 30 slices of cheese and 30 small bags of chips, pretzels, doritos, etc. Each sandwich is made with a single slice of bologna and cheese on it (no condiments) and placed in a plastic sandwich bag. The sandwiches should then be placed back in the original bread bags for ease of transportation.
If your son is interested in participating in this extremely worthy cause John Stewart (a GC dad) will be at Good Counsel on Sundays at 11:30 A.M. in the parking lot near the Kane Center to pick up the sandwiches and chips.
Tuesdays 6:00 AM – 7:30 AM
January 10, 17, 24, 31, February 7 and 14
Thursdays 6:00 AM – 7:30 AM
January 12, 19, 26, February 2, 9 and 16
All student/athletes are welcome to attend and should bring their glove, wood bat and wear comfortable clothing (shorts or sweat pants are acceptable).
Drills will be held in the gym and players should enter the building near the Kane Center. If you have questions please email Coach Smith at csmitty3165@gmail.com
