With the 2010 WCAC Championship in hand, Good Counsel ended the season Ranked #3 in the entire greater Washington Metropolitan area, its highest baseball ranking in school history. Absolutely fantastic season, guys!
One of the most successful eras of Good Counsel baseball ended with the team winning the 2010 WCAC League Championship. It was the second time in five seasons that the team won the championship under Coach John McGowan. The team finished with 22 wins against just five losses this year. After six years of leading the baseball program Coach McGowan has decided to step down as the varsity coach.
Under the guidance of Coach McGowan GC baseball became one of the top programs in the area. This was achieved through his dedication to the sport and to the athletes who played for him. He possesses an unbridled enthusiasm for the game which complements his great ability to teach the skills of baseball. His wealth of baseball knowledge and coaching experience will be difficult to replace.

In the first WCAC baseball semifinal, the Good Counsel Falcons took on the Paul VI Panthers on Shipley Field at the University of Maryland. The Panthers scored the first four runs of the game, but playing their fifth game in six days finally took its toll, and Good Counsel's big hitters and solid pitching proved to be too much to handle, as the Falcons
won handedly, 11-4.

Students that park their cars along the right field fence area at Bottegal Field know better than to leave them there after school during a Falcons' baseball game. Especially when lefty, Brandon Grove, 1B, 3B, 2010 (UNCG) is scheduled to hit. "Grover" went yard twice today with two monstrous shots over the RF fence.
